Location: New MaldenSEND Teacher / Lecturer - KingstonEngage Education is currently recruiting for an SEND Teacher to join an outstanding specialist college supporting students with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, including ASD and complex needs.
Learners follow a personalised curriculum designed to promote both academic progress and personal development. The college places a strong emphasis on building students' independence, helping them gain the skills they need to become confident and active members of the community.
As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and leading a team of support staff to ensure the success and progress of all learners.
About the Role- Plan and deliver teaching and learning activities effectively within the assigned curriculum area.
- Organise learning experiences in a clear and progressive sequence that supports each student's individual development.
- Carry out appropriate assessment, target setting, recording, reporting, and evaluation of educational programmes.
- Manage and supervise team members effectively, including volunteers, students, and visitors when required.
- Take part in relevant staff development activities and contribute to the planning and delivery of training to maintain and enhance professional skills.
Ideal candidates will:
- Hold a Certificate of Education (Cert Ed) or an equivalent teaching qualification, or be currently completing / willing to undertake the Cert Ed.
- Be able to carry out effective assessment, target setting, recording, reporting, and evaluation of educational programmes.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with students, carers, and other professionals.
- Demonstrate a strong belief that learners with special educational needs can achieve meaningful progress.
- Show a clear commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, and uphold the College's Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, and Health and Safety policies.
