We are currently recruiting for an Apprenticeship Performance and Development Coach to join our Delivery team, working with employer organisations and learners to deliver coaching sessions and workshops, supporting learners from Level 3 apprenticeships up to degree level to acquire and apply both skills and knowledge to enable them to succeed in their roles.
As this role will involve working with degree learners, the post-holder must have a degree-level qualification themselves.
PURPOSE:
This position involves supporting employer organisations in developing talent through our “recruit, reskill, and retain” strategies. The role requires engaging with employers and providing coaching and guidance to learners to support them into jobs and learning programmes.
Working in the Delivery Team, the purpose of this role is to engage with employers and coach a caseload of learners (following TDM’s curriculum intent and approach) to maximise career success, retention, timely completion of programme and whole person development for career success.
This role will also reliably document a learning narrative to ensure compliance, design and deliver training programmes following TDM’s task-based, flipped classroom approaches and methodologies, and demonstrate TDM's values and culture, collaborating with managers and colleagues on the Company's mission and vision.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be employer responsive – developing and maintaining strong employer relationships, assisting in employer vacancy generation/ employer impact / digital transformation / change management, futureproofing workforce planning and generating more Degree Apprenticeship / Apprenticeship / Skills Bootcamp starts with your employer partners.
- Engage employers to identify growth and talent needs through outreach and training needs analysis, supporting TDM's recruitment, retention, and reskilling strategies.
- Ensure employer participation in the programme, delivering and documenting employer and learner responsive coaching sessions using formative coaching and assessment skills (i.e. PATA or GROW) as per curriculum intent and strategy.
- Plan, assess, teach and align individual learning plans within both genuinely work-based learning and the educational brief, ensuring quality and accuracy in the completion of required documentation.
- Document the learner journey through consistent activity reporting and accurate use of TDM systems. Maintain the learner’s learning records in collaboration with colleagues to ensure accurate reporting of learners' progress and to provide punctual reporting for stakeholders, such as employers and funding authorities.
- Effectively rate learners’ programme progress against the RBSG (red, bronze, silver, gold) criteria (predicting programme success), including putting remedy plans in place to remove barriers to success.
- Develop, document and manage learner action plans to support additional learning needs when barriers to learning and progress are identified.
- Coach learners for performance competence and personal development, helping them to sustain or gain employment in Tech or Digital careers, whilst being a positive member of society.
- Proactively progress learning and facilitate formative and summative assessment of each individual learners’ PERFORMANCE in their careers, work and their studies via a range of methods.
- Proactively progress learning and facilitate formative and summative assessment of each individual learners’ whole person DEVELOPMENT via a range of methods.
- Proactively progress learning and facilitate formative and summative assessment of each individual learners’ ENGLISH and MATHS development via a range of methods.
- Ensure learner retention remains high, and learners achieve timely completion of their programme with the required positive outcomes.
- Design, develop and deliver classroom-based training (virtual or real world) and deliver blended learning following TDM’s approach and using TDM platforms: Totara and Mahara in areas of responsibility.
- Engage with and support the compliance, quality and customer experience processes.
- Any other duties as directed by your line manager and/or a Director.
- Ensure compliance with all TDM policies, procedures and legal responsibilities, including safeguarding, ISO9001, Confidentiality, Data Protection and Cyber Essentials.
Ideal Candidate:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- English and Maths at Level 2+ (i.e. GCSE grade C/4+).
- A passion for starting people’s careers and working (and fostering learning and development relationships) with employers.
- Strong project management and organisation skills to ensure each learner achieves what they’re capable of.
- Good writing, self-organisation and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to personally demonstrate and also to develop others against the TDM core values.
- Ability to gain trust and communicate with individuals from various backgrounds and various attitudes to life and work.
- Ability to adapt to changing legislation, to multi-task and use a variety of continuously evolving systems and processes as required.
- A full, clean driving licence, access to a vehicle and a willingness to travel as and when required.
Preferred:
- A background in the apprenticeship or business engagement sector.
- Coaching / assessing skills and qualifications.
- Classroom training skills and qualifications.
- Instructional design / VLE skills and qualifications.
