Lecturer in Animal Management (Further Education) – Fixed Term – Maternity cover. 29.5 hours per week. Salary: £24,332 - £27,111 per annum (No teaching qualification held); £27,902 - £42,526 per annum, pro-rata (Teaching qualification held - level 5 or above).

About the Department
The department is comprised of lecturers and tutors working alongside Animal Instructors to provide Further Education students with knowledge, understanding and practical skills to prepare them for careers in the Animal Industry. The animal collection houses over 70 species for student engagement.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver teaching to help students achieve excellent results on Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 animal-related courses.
- Inspire students to appreciate and enjoy Animal Management, and deliver on Animal Science based units (including Animal Biology and Chemistry).
- Act as a personal tutor, advising and guiding individuals in their progress, success and career aspirations through group and 1:1 tutorials.
- Undertake assessments, marking and monitoring of learner progress.
About You / Qualifications
- Hold a teaching qualification or have a willingness to complete one.
- Possess a degree in Animal Science/Management, Biological Sciences or similar.
- Thorough knowledge of a wide range of animals and good links with industry.
- Be a highly motivated lecturer with experience of providing tutorial support to students (advantageous).
- A1 Assessors Award (or equivalent) and V1 Internal Verifiers Award (or equivalent) desirable.
