Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Lecturer in Aston Medical Schools Physician Associate Practice MSc. Part of the Aston Medical School within the College of Health and Life Sciences, which is the home to the MBChB, PA MSc and BSc Nursing programmes. Applications are invited from highly experienced health care practitioners with relevant experience in clinical teaching and learning.
Overall, you will report to the Programme Directors and be part of a growing team of teaching staff delivering high quality medical education across the Medical School. You will be working in a team of 9, we are proud to be student experience focused and championing problem-based learning approaches to clinical education. These posts will have a requirement to teach, deliver clinical skills sessions and facilitate small group PBL sessions.

The successful applicant will contribute to the Department’s teaching, and external engagement, including through -
- Support and lead the delivery of the Physician Associate programme and to the delivery of other modules as appropriate and depending upon experience and expertise.
- Take responsibility for the design, content and delivery of specific areas of teaching and learning.
- Contribute to the wider student experience through personal tutoring, classroom teaching and providing support in and outside the classroom.
- Assist in student recruitment activities, including interviews, open days and external recruitment events.
- Leading and supporting student projects at Masters
- Teaching/proving support to students at all levels of study and carrying out associated processes; contributing to programme design and content; innovating in delivery and assessment; engaging with quality assurance.
- Helping students on clinical placements
- There is a requirement for the applicant to maintain clinical practice during their tenure.
We are looking for someone with qualifications and experience in healthcare. You could be a Medical Associate Professional, Doctor, Nursing or Allied Healthcare Professional. You should hold a professional registration such as GMC/NMC/HCPC or be a member of the appropriate MVR. Successful applicants will also hold or be willing to obtain Fellow or Senior Fellow status of the Academy of Higher Education. You should also have the ability to work with a range of learners, and an understanding of clinical programmes is an important attribute, as is the desire to contribute to a positive, collegiate environment, building good relationships with students, industry partners and colleagues.
