Your Role As An Investment Apprentice
Delivering client value drives everything we do r role will focus on assisting colleagues in preparing investment advice, market insights and detailed analysis for your clients.
What Your Day Could Look Like
- Supporting client-facing advisory activities through accurate investment calculations
- Preparing and checking data, carrying out audit trails and supporting one-off projects
- Carrying out administrative tasks contributing to the retirement and investment consulting process
- Inputting data accurately to maintain management information
- Supporting the delivery of client-facing plan management activities and project deliverables
- Over time, helping to ensure our work complies with external professional requirements and our internal quality standards
- Learning quickly on the job, through formal training and from senior colleagues
Your DevelopmentAs An Aon Apprentice you will be enrolled onto our Development Programme. This programme is built around three core elements:
- Business learning – on-the-job learning and experiences to develop knowledge of the team and solution line
- Centralised learning – UK apprentices complete an Aon Induction, monthly webinars, business skills training and workshops to build knowledge, confidence and network
- Professional Qualifications – study towards the Level 4 Investment Consultant Apprentice Programme, including support for the IMC qualification. Paid study leave and access to study materials are provided.
Building RelationshipsWith Aon Business Leaders playing an active role in development, you are encouraged to make the most of networking opportunities. Early relationships will include:
- Your Apprentice network – meet Apprentices across Aon in the UK
- Your Buddy – a recent apprentice to help with day-to-day questions and networking
- Business mentors – experienced colleagues involved in your development
- The Early Careers Team – to support, open doors and advise on development
Your career beyond your Apprenticeship
After completing the formal apprenticeship, you’ll continue to receive support ect to be promotion ready within 24 months and to continue studies for CFA qualifications. You’ll have opportunities to explore different career paths and take on more client responsibilities after 18 months of the Apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements
- 112 UCAS points from top 3 A Levels (or 280 UCAS points for exams sat prior to 2017) i.e. BCC
- Five grade 9-4 GCSEs including Maths and English (A*-C GCSEs for exams studied prior to 2020)

We recognise the value of office presence for early career colleagues. The first 6 months are based in the office to support learning and progression, followed by a flexible arrangement allowing 3–4 days in the office or with clients.
