Our client, a highly reputable academic institution, is seeking an innovative and experienced Senior Lecturer in Digital Pedagogy to join their esteemed faculty. This role, based in Glasgow, Scotland, UK , will play a crucial part in advancing the university's commitment to cutting-edge teaching and learning methodologies, particularly in the digital sphere. You will be responsible for researching, developing, and implementing effective digital learning strategies, training academic staff, and contributing to curriculum design that leverages technology to enhance student engagement and outcomes. This position requires a deep understanding of educational technology, learning theories, and the ability to inspire and guide educators.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct research into emerging trends and best practices in digital pedagogy and educational technology. Develop and deliver training programmes and workshops for academic staff on effective digital teaching methods and tools. Advise on the design and development of online, blended, and technology-enhanced learning environments. Collaborate with academic departments to integrate digital tools and resources into curriculum design. Evaluate the effectiveness of digital learning initiatives and provide recommendations for improvement. Support the adoption and optimisation of the university's Learning Management System (LMS) and other educational technologies. Contribute to the development and refinement of the university's strategy for digital education. Mentor and guide academic staff in their use of digital tools and pedagogical approaches. Stay abreast of advancements in educational technology, learning analytics, and student engagement strategies. Contribute to the academic community through publications, presentations, and conference participation. Engage with external partners and institutions to foster collaboration in digital education. Promote a culture of innovation and excellence in digital teaching and learning across the university. Assist in the assessment and evaluation of student learning within digital environments. Provide leadership and guidance within the digital learning support team. Qualifications and Experience: Doctorate (PhD or EdD) in Education, Educational Technology, or a closely related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education, with a significant focus on digital pedagogy, instructional design, or educational technology. Demonstrated experience in researching and implementing effective digital learning strategies. Strong understanding of learning theories, instructional design principles, and pedagogical best practices. Proficiency in utilising various educational technologies and Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas). Excellent presentation, facilitation, and training skills. Strong analytical and research skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, IT staff, and students. Proven ability to lead and inspire change within an academic setting. Experience in curriculum development and assessment design in digital contexts is highly desirable.
