Position: Lecturer - Senior Lecturer (ILP Coordinator)- Port Macquarie

Job Overview
Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (ILP Coordinator) – Rural – Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia. Part‑time (14 hours a week), fixed‑term contract until 30 June 2026 with possibility of renewal.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage the Independent Learning Project (ILP) programme, ensuring alignment with the undergraduate medical curriculum.
- Coordinate, supervise and mentor students through their ILP, including thesis reviews, presentations, coursework and final reports.
- Provide teaching and mentoring to undergraduate medical students.
- Collaborate with local hospitals, clinical environments and PHN/AMS and other community networks to design and oversee research projects.
- Support ILP and rural research projects: design, governance, ethics applications, and funding applications.
- Contribute to the RHMT Research Plan, rural research framework, workforce retention strategies and data analysis.
Competence and Experience
- Fellow of a Specialist Medical College or a postgraduate degree in a relevant field with experience working in a medical and health environment.
- Experience supervising undergraduate research projects, including thesis, thesis reviews and publication.
- Demonstrated commitment to rural health and research, with a record of rural‑focused research, ethics approvals and grant submissions.
- Strong teaching and mentoring skills for undergraduate students.
- Ability to coordinate and administer the programme and provide support to students and staff.
Essential Skills
- Expertise in research methodology, ethics and statistical analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Capacity to develop and maintain partnerships with local health services.
Academic Level and Remuneration
Level B or Level
C. Competitive remuneration including 17% superannuation, leave loading and an additional 3 days leave over the Christmas period.
