Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Core Skills Trainer - Digital Skills to join our Non-Clinical Training team. This is a part-time role based at the Regional Office with hybrid working and regular national and regional travel as required. This is an exciting opportunity to design and deliver high-quality non-clinical learning and development programmes across HCRG Care Group, our partners, and customers. The role focuses on empowering colleagues across the organisation to build confidence and competence in using digital tools and technologies. You will work closely with clinical, administrative, and support services teams to ensure staff can navigate and maximise essential systems, driving digital inclusion and enhancing service delivery. This is a highly interactive, people-focused position blending training delivery, coaching, and user engagement, fostering a culture of digital empowerment.
Responsibilities
Deliver engaging in-person and online training on digital tools, including Microsoft 365, EPR systems (e.g., Tableau, SystmOne), e-rostering, and digital communication platforms.
Build digital skills and confidence across all staff groups, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
Design and produce learner-friendly training resources such as guides, videos, and infographics.
Support the creation, delivery, and evaluation of non-clinical learning programmes aligned with best practice and adult learning principles.
Conduct training needs analyses and contribute to the scheduling and coordination of learning interventions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends, tools, and best practices in digital skills and workforce development.
Foster and support a network of internal Digital Champions to promote peer-led learning.
Contribute to KPI achievement, reporting, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate in relevant projects and identify opportunities for service and process enhancements.
Commit to ongoing personal and professional development.
Qualifications
Essential: Degree (or equivalent) in Education, IT, Digital Learning, Health Informatics, or related field.
Professional teaching/training qualification.
Leadership/management qualification or willingness to work towards.
Strong understanding of adult learning theory, training needs analysis, and evaluation frameworks.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and training software.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues during training and support.
Proven experience in designing and delivering high-quality learning programmes for diverse audiences.
Skilled in adapting delivery to varying levels of digital confidence.
Evidence of continuous professional development.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of equality, diversity, and inclusion principles in learning design.
Ability to work independently with excellent planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills.
Advanced IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Canva, and/or Articulate Rise.
Desirable: Project management or coaching qualification.
Experience leading multiple projects/workstreams.
Ability to develop business cases and improvement plans.
Skills in data analysis and analytics tools.
Knowledge of health and social care workforce training and development pathways.
Experience supporting clinical systems or working with frontline clinical staff.
Understanding of digital inclusion, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA), and data privacy requirements (e.g., NHS DSP Toolkit).
Experience in digital transformation projects or managing Digital Champions programmes.
