Southampton Solent University’s Warsash Maritime School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Marine Engineering to contribute to the delivery of our specialist Marine Engineering and Electro-Technical Officer seafarer programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and to participate in the commercial and research activities of the school. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and enhancement of the student experience within the school.

Within the Marine Engineering team of the school, the successful candidate will hold an undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in an Engineering related discipline and ideally hold an operational level certificate of competence which is UK Flag State Endorsement recognised. The successful candidate will teach across a wide range of topics within the school and therefore being flexible to teach across a wide range of subjects and academic levels is essential.
- Starting salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience within the salary band stated.
- This role will attract a WMA allowance of 10% in addition to base salary.
- 35 days annual leave in addition to public holidays and scheduled university closure periods at the discretion of the university.
- Development pathways are available to upskill and increase your portfolio of qualifications up to PhD level as well as undertake a post-graduate teaching qualification if not already held.
