The School of Architecture, Art & Design is a design-led, creative, and collaborative School, dedicated to giving our students the knowledge, skills and opportunities they need for outstanding careers in design. We are one of two Schools within the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries, the creative hub of the University, which provides access to a broad range of making facilities and interdisciplinary interactions, encouraging and supporting students and staff to establish creative alliances and collaborations.
The role We are looking for an individual with landscape architecture practice and teaching experience to actively contribute to studio teaching and lead modules on our undergraduate and post-graduate Architecture Courses, with a particular focus on the integration of landscape architecture and urban design in architectural education..Experience and knowledge of UK landscape architecture and urban design practice, and architectural education are essential. Current practice and/or a research focus in one of these areas and links to the construction industry are desirable.
Working closely with the Architecture team, the successful candidate will contribute and collaborate on the successful organisation, teaching, assessment, and development of current and future courses, with opportunities to be involved in research and cross-disciplinary activities.
The candidate We are seeking to recruit an innovative educator to join the Architecture teaching team. Applicants should be able to demonstrate professional knowledge of, and experience in, landscape architecture design practice, together with academic teaching experience. They will have a first degree in a relevant discipline, a post-graduate qualification in Landscape Architecture, and be a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI).
The successful candidate should also have an interest in emerging technologies and familiarity with the use of virtual learning environments and associated teaching methodologies.
