Full & Part Time, permanent
At Wigan & Leigh College, our lecturers help students reach their full potential. We know Great People. Change Lives.
You'll teach across Health and Social Care qualifications, helping students build the technical knowledge, safety awareness and hands-on skills the sector demands. You'll plan and deliver lessons, assess progress and contribute to a department where getting things right is part of what you teach, not just what you expect.
What you'll do
You will play a key role in shaping the next generation of health and social care professionals, delivering high-quality teaching across Levels 1 to 5. Working across a diverse curriculum including NCFE, BTEC and T Levels, you will bring subjects such as Health, Nursing, Midwifery and Mental Health to life in a way that is engaging, relevant and inspiring. Your teaching will bridge the gap between theory and real-world practice, equipping students with the knowledge, confidence and skills they need to progress into higher education or meaningful careers within the sector.
You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and challenged to achieve their best. Through effective planning, assessment and feedback, you will monitor progress closely and intervene where needed to ensure success. Alongside this, you will contribute to the development of a forward-thinking curriculum that reflects current industry standards and prepares learners for the realities of working in health and social care.
What you'll bring
You will bring valuable, real-world experience from the Health & Social Care sector, alongside a genuine passion for developing others and sharing your knowledge. Whether your background is in nursing, care, mental health, midwifery or a related field, you will understand the importance of preparing learners for both the professional and personal demands of the sector.
