Location: Anderton Primary School, Babylon Lane, Anderton, Chorley, PR6 9NN (190 pupils on roll)
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated teaching assistant to join our dedicated team of teachers and staff. Our staff are committed to ensuring pupils learn, progress and reach their potential. Responsibilities
- Promote positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
- Maintain high expectations for pupil learning, behaviour and attainment.
- Use a creative and practical approach to learning.
- Apply a good working knowledge of the primary curriculum, with excellent numeracy and literacy skills and experience of working across the school.
- Work with children who have a range of special educational and behavioural needs.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Communicate clearly and at a high standard both verbally and in writing.
- Assist in the assessment, monitoring and recording of pupil progress and developmental needs.
- Support learning in the classroom.
- Continuously develop skills and knowledge.
Hours and Remuneration
This is a part time, term time only position. Likely working hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00-12:30 and 13:00-15:30. Salary quoted is full time equivalent and will be paid on a pro rata basis.
Essential Qualifications
- English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent).
- TA qualification NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent).
Desirable Qualifications
- First Aid qualification.
- Current safeguarding training.
Essential Experience
- Prior experience as a general teaching assistant throughout the primary phase.
- Experience working with children with SEND.
Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
The post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). Successful candidates will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service for a disclosure.
