Job description
The School of Engineering at UWE Bristol is seeking an Electromechanical Technical Educator to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of technical learning across the disciplines and programmes aligned to this role.
Working closely with academic and technical colleagues, the postholder will ensure that technical expertise is effectively embedded within teaching and learning, supporting the delivery of coherent, inclusive student learning experiences. The role plays a key part in fostering collaboration between technical specialisms and programmes and in establishing clear, consistent frameworks for technical teaching contributions across learning spaces.
In partnership with the Technical Team Lead for the relevant resource area, you will support the development of technical input within Programme and Module materials, contribute to annual curriculum planning, and help identify, develop, and share best practice in technical learning and teaching across the School and wider College community. The role also supports the trialling and adoption of new learning tools and approaches, both traditional and digital.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive working environment and welcome applications from candidates with a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences.
About You
You will have experience in technical educational leadership or oversight within teaching and learning environments, across both physical and digital spaces. You will bring experience of project based delivery, operational coordination (including planning, scheduling, and administration), and cross disciplinary working.
You will be confident in supporting innovative and inclusive learning approaches, comfortable using digital systems, and committed to modelling UWE's values of collaboration, respect, inclusion, creativity, and adaptability.
We are committed to supporting reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process and in the workplace. Please let us know if you require any adjustments to support your application or participation.
