Overview
Pink Tile Education is supporting a welcoming secondary school in Worthing in their search for a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join their team in September. This is a full time permanent position supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 within a mainstream secondary school setting. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support learning, engagement and student progress across a range of subjects.
Role Responsibilities
- Support students in class to access learning effectively across KS3 and KS4.
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and improve progress.
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation, resources and classroom organisation.
- Support students with varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a focused learning environment.
- Encourage student engagement, confidence and independence in learning.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and engagement.
- Support behaviour management in line with school policies.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school team.
- Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote student wellbeing at all times.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with young people in a school or educational setting is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, proactive and adaptable approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Commitment to supporting student progress and inclusion.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
Additional Information
Salary includes a 12.07% PAYE holiday entitlement.
