Engineering Teacher - Further Education
Location: Northampton Start: September 2026 Full time Competitive Salary Permanent
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Engineering Teacher to join a forward thinking department dedicated to developing the next generation of engineers. The successful candidate will deliver high quality teaching and learning to post 16 students across a range of engineering qualifications, helping learners develop the technical knowledge, practical skills, and industry awareness required for successful careers in the engineering sector.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons for post 16 students.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Create an inclusive learning environment that promotes achievement and professional development.
- Support learners in achieving their full potential, inspiring them to pursue engineering careers.
- Depending on background, teach subjects including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, or related disciplines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or be willing to work towards one.
- Possess relevant engineering qualifications and/or industry experience.
- Have experience teaching or training learners within Further Education, apprenticeships, or industry settings.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and a passion for engineering.
- Be able to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Have excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
