Primary School Teacher - Full time, long term temporary and ongoing from September 2026
This Primary School Teacher role offers the opportunity to work in a specialist setting that supports pupils with hearing needs through clear structure, inclusive practice, and strong communication. The Primary School Teacher will join a collaborative team that values consistency, patience, and high quality teaching. While British Sign Language is not required, clear verbal and non verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Duties as Primary School Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging primary lessons tailored to pupils with communication and additional learning needs
- Use clear, consistent communication strategies to support pupil understanding and engagement
- Create a calm, inclusive, and well structured classroom environment
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs and learning styles
- Work closely with support staff and specialist colleagues to support pupil progress
- Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress in line with school expectations
- Promote pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
- Maintain safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal Primary School Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching in a primary setting
- Strong, clear communication skills and a calm teaching approach
- Willingness to work within a specialist or inclusive education setting
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse learning and communication needs
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
