This position is a teaching role for a specialist SEND school - Queensmead House School - within the Witherslack Group, providing education for children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, communication difficulties and complex learning needs.
Responsibilities
• Work directly with children and young people with a range of complex educational needs, helping them learn, develop their abilities and raise their self esteem.
• Support pupils to build confidence and achieve the "huge small victories" that make a lasting difference.
• Deliver lesson plans and adapt teaching techniques to meet individual student needs, using specialist supports from psychologists, teaching assistants and therapy professionals.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan and review progress, ensuring high quality education for all pupils.
Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience across primary or secondary settings.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Resilience, dedication and a "can do" attitude.
- Experience working with students with ASD, SEMH or other special educational needs is essential.
