Main duties of the job
·To support the clinical development of pre-registration nurse, nursing associates and Allied health professionals in practice and in partnership with supervisors and assessors
·To be a point of reference for clinical staff in supporting and managing issues/concerns raised by learners, clinical staff and the education provider
·To support the training provision for preparation and updating of practice supervisors and assessors to meet the NMC Standards of student Supervision and Assessment and the HCPC Education standards.
·Work with clinical and education leads to grow placement capacity across the organisation to respond to service needs
·Plan and undertake learning environment quality assurance audits and assess and benchmark other learning environments to inform the provision of future non-medical healthcare learner education
·Support the Learning Environment Lead in preparing reports in relation to learners; both verbal and written
·Provide highly specialised advice in relation to placement learning for nursing in line with best practice and governance
·Provide a highly visible clinical presence to both promote and guide the use of coaching in practiceSupport the co-ordination of regulatory body visits and revalidation of educational programmes
·Work in partnership with HEI’s in the recruitment of learners to both direct entry and apprenticeship programmes as required

Training and qualifications
Essential criteria
- Current nursing or allied health professional registration
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Evidence of supporting learning in clinical practice
Desirable criteria
- Leadership and management experience
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Current experience and specialist knowledge of relevant professional practice
- Working experience of the NHS acute sector and range of staff groups
- Mentorship/supervision experience
- Planning and delivery of educational activities/staff development within an acute health care setting
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
- Collection and evaluation of data e.g. audit
- Quality improvement/change management experience
- Knowledge of the national preceptorship framework
