About the role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Geography Teacher, who is looking for a Long term role, in a Secondary school in the Longridge area on a full time basis. The role is set to commence in May 2026, with shortlisting currently underway.
This school has a strong focus on raising achievement through high quality teaching and effective support. It offers a professional working environment where staff are encouraged to contribute ideas and develop confidence in their role.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Teach Geography across physical, human and environmental topics at KS3 and KS4
- Deliver lessons in line with the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications
- Encourage enquiry-based learning and awareness of global issues
- Develop pupils' map, data analysis and fieldwork skills
- Assess and monitor pupil progress and attainment effectively
- Support pupils with GCSE examination preparation and coursework requirements
- Differentiate teaching to support all learners
- Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities
- Promote sustainability, citizenship and cultural understanding
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
- Experience teaching Geography in UK secondary schools
- Knowledge of KS3 and GCSE Geography curricula
- Ability to deliver engaging and enquiry based lessons
