About Us
Northgate is a vibrant, multi cultural primary school situated very close to Crawley town centre. We are very proud to have a Special Support Centre for children who are D/deaf. Our SSC (The Orchard) is a 15 place unit for children with severe to profound hearing loss. The Orchard team consists of two Teachers of the Deaf and several Special Support Assistants. The children in The Orchard are all part of a mainstream class. The support we provide is a combination of in class support and additional support/interventions in the SSC as required by each pupil. Our children have a mixture of communication preferences: oral, SSE and BSL. We currently have 15 children on roll for September 2026.
