Job Summary
Lecturer in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering - Deeside.
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £33,596- £51,932 (Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 subject to evidence of progression)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom and practical teaching for Further and Higher Education courses in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering.
- Develop, update and assess learning material for higher and further education subjects such as maintenance of mechanical systems, turning, milling, bench fitting, business management, project management, mathematics, communications and manufacturing techniques.
- Support learners to develop technical and transferable skills, providing assistance to students with additional learning needs.
- Build positive working relationships with students and colleagues, manage learner groups, and adopt a constructive approach to challenging behaviour.
- Participate in departmental and college quality assurance activities, reflecting on teaching practice and supporting continuous improvement.
- Engage in professional development and, where appropriate, undertake or attend training relevant to the department's teaching offer.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Qualified to a minimum of Level 5 or equivalent in a professionally relevant subject area.
- A level 5 teaching qualification (e.g. Cert Ed/PGCE) or actively working towards one.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self motivated, well organised, able to work independently and take initiative.
- Demonstrated awareness of teaching quality standards.
- Empathy, patience and a sense of humour, with resilience to adapt to varied demands.
Desirable Qualifications
Welsh language skills are desirable.
