Job Overview
Wainwright Primary Academy are looking for a dedicated, confident, and motivated Cover Supervisor to support teaching and learning across our academy. In this role, you will teach classes across the academy to support with PPA cover.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will help create a positive learning environment, support behaviour expectations, and work with individuals or small groups on agreed programmes of work.
Salary: Grade 4
Hours: 37 Hours per week - Term Time Only
Start Date: As soon as possible

- Confident with excellent communication skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Resilient, positive, enthusiastic and committed to high standards
- Professional, organised and capable of building strong relationships with staff and students
- Skilled in behaviour management with clear boundaries and consistency
- IT confident and able to use a range of digital tools
- Supportive of an inclusive, coaching-based culture
- Committed to safeguarding and equality of opportunity
The successful candidate will work under the guidance of teaching staff, supervising classes during short-term teacher absence, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with learning.
Essential
- GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
Desirable
- Previous experience as a cover supervisor or working with young people
- Leadership or organisational experience in a school or similar setting
- Understanding of the Primary and Early Years curriculum expectations
- Subject knowledge for the primary curriculum in Computing and/or Music
