About the role
We are currently recruiting to expand our brilliant staff team and strengthening it further in all areas of the school and college. We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who will be based at our Wimborne (College) or Colehill (School) sites with a "can do" attitude. This position is offered on a full time, term time only basis.
Salary: £19,028 to £19,329 per annum pro rata (pay award pending).
The role involves assisting the teacher and other teaching assistants in the development and implementation of a programme of work and in providing a stable, caring and supportive learning environment for the pupils. You will be part of a team that is experienced and supportive where you can really get to know the pupils and your colleagues whilst working with pupils in small groups. The role is very varied, with no one day being the same, whilst being extremely rewarding. The working hours are 8:45am to 3:45pm with half an hour for lunch Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
Assist the teacher and other teaching assistants in developing and implementing programmes of work and delivering a stable, caring and supportive learning environment for pupils. Work in small groups with pupils, supporting their learning and development. Support pupils with SEND, including those with complex needs.
Qualifications and experience
Experience of and confidence in supporting young people with SEND, including those with complex needs. Flexible approach, exemplary communication skills and ability to meet challenging needs of young people. Must have a DBS check - Disclosure and Barring Service check in line with the GOV.UK safer recruitment guidelines. The Department for Education Teacher's Check will also be completed as part of the onboarding process.
Additional requirements
This role is UK based and a Right to Work in the UK must be established. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.

Beaucroft School and College
Beaucroft is a Foundation Special School that caters for children and young people between the ages of 4 to 19 years who are experiencing learning difficulties, including complex needs, and those with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Our pupils' needs range vastly and we are dedicated to giving the very best education to the children that they deserve.
Beaucroft operates across two sites; applicants must be able to travel to and from both sites. Positions may be based at either site as needed.
