About the role

About your role:We’re looking for a Fleet Vehicle Technician & Driver to ensure our college vehicles are safe, clean, and ready for use. You’ll play a key role in transporting students for educational visits, maintaining our fleet, and carrying out minor repairs. This is a hands-on role that combines driving duties with practical maintenance tasks.

What you’ll do

Drive college vehicles for educational visits and other transport needs
Carry out daily and monthly vehicle checks, reporting faults promptly
Ensure vehicles are clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times
Complete minor mechanical repairs within your qualifications and experience
Maintain stock of oils, fluids, and spare parts
Check compliance items such as road tax, permits, and first aid kits
Adhere to all legislation, including driver’s hours and Tachograph rules

What we’re looking forEssential:

Full UK Driving Licence with Business Insurance
Good practical skills in vehicle maintenance
Strong communication and people skills
Ability to work under pressure and with attention to detail
Previous customer care experience
Knowledge of Health & Safety practices

Desirable:

PCV Licence (D Licence)
Digital Tachograph Card
City & Guilds Motor Vehicle/Engineering qualification
Previous motor vehicle repair experience
