Main Purpose
The Assistant Headteacher will support the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher in communicating the school's vision, day to day management, establishing policies, and line managing Middle Leaders.
Key responsibilities
- Overall operational and strategic responsibility of a school priority.
- Strategic oversight of key areas of responsibility.
- High expectations of yourself and others.
- Support the Deputy Headteacher in the execution of their duties.
Leadership and Management
- Promote equality and inclusion as cornerstones of the school's ethos.
- Establish and oversee systems, processes and policies.
- Ensure staff and students' safety and welfare through safeguarding.
- Maintain rigorous approaches to risk management.
Teaching and Learning
- Be an exceptional classroom practitioner.
- Support the leadership team to remove barriers to learning.
- Understand and support students with learning barriers.
- Be a 'go to' person within your subject demonstrating excellent practice.
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Evidence of further study (Master's/NPQ) - desirable.
- Experience of effective line management of staff.
- Aspirations to develop as a leader through reflective practice.
- Proven track record as an excellent classroom practitioner.
Pay range
Pay range: L12 - L16 - £67,898.00 to £75,049.00
