Location: Burton on Trent (DE13) • Start Date: 22nd May (earlier start available) • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am - 4:00pm (Term Time Only) • Contract: Full-Time
About the Role
- Providing 1:1 support for a 14 year old student
- Assisting with mobility using an electric wheelchair
- Supporting with personal care requirements
- Using specialist equipment, including a hoist (training and/or experience required)
- Working closely with teaching staff and healthcare professionals
- Ensuring the student's safety, comfort, and inclusion throughout the school day
About the Student
The student has a life limiting condition and complex needs, including reduced mobility, a heart condition, scoliosis, and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. A sensitive, respectful, and proactive approach is essential.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs
- Manual handling training (desirable)
- Comfortable supporting personal care
- Calm, patient, and empathetic nature
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships
- Reliability and commitment to a full time, long term role
