About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students with special educational needs (SEN), including those requiring personal care. This rewarding role works closely with pupils who may have autism (ASD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), or physical disabilities, helping them access education and develop independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN
- Assist with personal care needs (toileting, feeding, changing, mobility support)
- Support students with communication and emotional regulation
- Work alongside teachers to adapt learning activities
- Use specialist equipment where required (e.g. hoists, sensory tools)
- Promote dignity, independence, and wellbeing at all times
- Monitor and record student progress
About You
- Experience working with children or young people (SEN, care, healthcare, nursery, or similar)
- DBS Certificate - Enhanced & on Update Service
- Comfortable supporting personal care needs
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and undertake training
Desirable
- Experience with ASD, PMLD, or complex needs
- Moving & Handling / Hoist training
- Background in care, support work, or health
