Overview
The LA and Governing Body wish to appoint a committed and enthusiastic teaching assistant to work as part of a dedicated team to support the new Severn Primary School Specialist Resource Base.
We are a thriving, vibrant and caring school with 400+ pupils on roll. All our staff are great team players with a shared vision for excellence and inclusion, acting as role models for all our pupils.
Responsibilities
- Support the Specialist Resource Base, which opened in March 2025 and supports two classes of 10 pupils with complex learning needs.
- Work with children having emotional and wellbeing needs in a primary setting, ensuring their needs are met within the classroom and wider school environment.
- Establish effective working relationships with children, staff, parents and other professionals.
- Maintain good standards of literacy and numeracy for supported pupils.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive working environment where everyone feels valued.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience working with emotional and wellbeing needs children in a primary setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good standards of literacy and numeracy.
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) as required under the Education (Wales) Act 2014.
- Subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.
