Endoscopy Admissions Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the Endoscopy Admissions team at both Poole and Bournemouth.
Applicants must have excellent communication and administration skills. Experience of working in an office/NHS setting is essential.
You will be hardworking and want to deliver an excellent service to our patients, relish a challenge and enjoy working under pressure.
The position is based in Poole with cross site working in Bournemouth.
Working hours are between 7.00am - 5pm, Monday - Sunday on a rota basis.

Main duties of the job
- Responsible for booking all referrals on to eCAMIS within 48 hours of arrival in the office
- Book appointments in a timely fashion using the Endoscopy booking system (HICSS) and using own judgement to allocate to correct Endoscopy list
- Send out appointment letters ensuring correct insertions and bowel prep are enclosed
- Create and transfer all e notes through the use of CRT procedure. You will be required to walk the notes over to health records.
- Ensure all lists are filled to capacity and liaise with the Endoscopy Supervisor so that any problems or queries are highlighted
- Ensure all notes, wristbands and admission packs are ready for the day of admission
- Liaise with wards ensuring correct paperwork is sent to the wards for inpatient referrals
- Respond to telephone calls and enquiries from patients, wards and medical staff in an efficient and courteous manner and respond accordingly
- Check procedure reports and ensure all outpatient and any other follow up appointments are made
- Deal promptly with incoming correspondence and ensure referrals are viewed by consultants as necessary
- Admit, discharge and transfer patients on eCAMIS
- Assist with any other duties within the office and department as required

Person Specification Qualifications
- Basic computer and keyboard skills
- RSA III or equivalent
Experience
- Previous clerical experience within a busy office, working under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Ability/experience to work in a demanding environment
- Experience of working with members of the public
- eCAMIS/ WLM/ OPS/HICSS trained EPR
Knowledge
- Able to work flexibly according to the needs of the service
- Knowledge of Endoscopy procedures
- Understanding of cancer, diagnostic and 18 week national rules and targets
Language requirement
- Be able to speak English as necessary to undertake the role
