As Deputy Nursery Manager you will support the Nursery Manager and lead a team of expert Educators to deliver outstanding education, customer service, and a thriving team culture. In the absence of the Nursery Manager, you will act as Manager in Charge, assuming full responsibility for operational delivery, safeguarding, and statutory compliance.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead, embed, and continuously elevate the quality of education through the N Curriculum and Pedagogy.
- Take full ownership of SEND provision, leading identification, assessment and personalised support planning.
- Champion safeguarding and wellbeing, acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead when needed.
- Observe teaching practice regularly, coach in the moment, and role model outstanding delivery.
- Provide structured feedback, mentoring and 1:1 development to ensure continuous professional growth across the team.
- Champion development through mentoring, coaching, supervision and use of the N Academy.
- Support daily operational planning, including routines, learning environments, ratios and rotas to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality educational delivery throughout the day.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a nursery leadership position (ideally as a Deputy Manager, Third in Charge, or Nursery Manager).
- Proven experience leading education within an EYFS setting, delivering Strong or Exceptional Standard.
- Strong track record in raising teaching quality and coaching teams through improvement.
- Ability to inspire, challenge and support teams through growth and change.
- A background in leading consistent and exceptional customer service.
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
- Paediatric First Aid (12 hours) and a commitment to remain compliant.
- Relevant safeguarding/child protection training and willingness to update that training regularly.
- A genuine passion for education and changing the lives of children.
- Able to communicate with parents, external professionals, colleagues and children effectively.
