Join our dynamic team as a Business Development Manager, focusing on apprenticeships within key sectors such as digital, health and life sciences, professional services, and construction & engineering. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who excels in creating new business opportunities and nurturing relationships with employers to enhance their workforce through apprenticeships.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Develop new business within the College’s key sector areas using various approaches like sales calls, social media promotions, and networking events.
- Achieve monthly apprenticeship start targets as outlined in your annual personal development review.
- Manage and report on an effective sales pipeline to meet monthly recruitment targets.
- Create and deliver targeted campaigns to generate new leads, collaborating with internal stakeholders.
- Provide advice and support to employers on the benefits of apprenticeships and the apprenticeship levy.
- Ensure employer compliance with funding rules and their roles in apprenticeship programmes.
- Build relationships with sector-focused bodies to increase the college's brand awareness.
- Design business proposals and training plans tailored to employer needs with support from the apprenticeship delivery team.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and new opportunities within the industry.
- Work closely with employers to align apprenticeship programmes with current and future skills needs.
- Conduct Health and Safety assessments at employer premises and develop action plans as necessary.
- Support employers in managing their apprenticeship service accounts and maximize opportunities within the college’s offerings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in business development, preferably within education or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of the apprenticeship framework and funding rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in using LMI platforms and data analysis to drive business decisions.
- Experience in organizing events and managing promotional activities.
- Knowledge of current industry and educational trends within key sectors.
