Working Hours: Up to 32 hours per week contact teaching - up to 8 hours non-contact. Reports To: Director of Studies. Salary: £565 per week + holiday remuneration.

Overview: As a Senior Teacher with Oxford International Junior Programmes, you will be responsible for delivering high quality English lessons, as well as assisting the Director of Studies in any way, at one of our residential language centres.
All candidates need to be over 18 years old, eligible to work in the UK and willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS Disclosure Check and/or an Overseas Police Check.
Must-Haves
- Experience working with children/teenagers, ideally in a residential camp setting or similar
- Significant full time teaching experience
- A positive and flexible approach to work, along with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
- A desire to work with students aged between 8 17
- The ability to demonstrate respect for equal opportunities and respect for race and diversity
- A bachelor's degree and a CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent
- Eligibility to work in the UK
Main Duties and Responsibilities Academic duties
- Preparing lessons and adapting existing materials to suit your students' needs and abilities.
- Delivering lessons with the aim of achieving the objectives of the syllabus and to the standards set out in your Teacher Handbook and/or the Oxford International Junior Programmes syllabus.
- Encouraging student participation through a positive and enthusiastic approach to your work.
- Managing student behaviour effectively to allow each learner to experience an academically fulfilling environment.
- Substituting for teachers if and when required.
- Offering appropriate and timely support to newly qualified teachers in matters of classroom management, lesson planning and course administration.
Administration Duties
- Attending staff meetings, as and when necessary.
- Assisting the DOS with academic administration and/or professional development sessions.
- Keeping all administration maintained. This will include class registers, work records and student reports. These are to be completed in a professional and timely manner, as delegated by the DOS.
- Assisting with student and teacher inductions as and when necessary.
Student welfare
- Delivering engaging lessons for the students, creating a fun yet safe environment.
- Complying with Oxford International Junior Programmes' Child Safeguarding policy at all times.
General
- Responding to emergencies whenever necessary.
- Support the wider centre team with all tasks required.
- Maintaining suitable levels of student discipline, safety, and welfare.
- Always encouraging students to use English.
- Carrying out and/or consult risk assessments whenever required.
- Attend all induction days prior to the students arriving.
- Attend all staff briefings and take part in all necessary health and safety training.
- Committing to being a positive role model through your employment.
- Carrying out all other reasonable tasks.
