About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant with SEN experience, you will:
- Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with various SEN, implementing tailored learning plans and strategies.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to student learning.
- Positive Classroom Environment: Create a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive classroom that fosters engagement and well-being.
- Communication and Collaboration: Maintain clear communication with parents, caregivers, and professionals involved in the student's care.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Adjust teaching strategies and support plans to meet individual needs.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven SEN Experience: Experience working with students with SEN, including autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, etc.
- Passionate and Empathetic: Genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and understanding their needs.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team.
- Patient and Understanding: Calm and patient approach to diverse learning and emotional needs.
- Resourceful and Creative: Ability to think creatively and find innovative support methods.
Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
- Relevant experience in a school setting is highly desirable
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification preferred, or equivalent experience
- SEN experience is essential
