Purpose of Post: The post holder will participate in and contribute to, the development, management and delivery of learning and teaching to programmes and modules primarily within the School of Nursing & Allied Health (SoNAH), mainly the Master of Public Health (MPH) programme. Working closely with the Head of Subject, the post holder will provide support to students undertaking the Master of Public Health programme, and work inter-professionally with colleagues across the School, as well as support undergraduate or CPD programme provision where required. As a member of the academic team, the post holder will assist in the development of the professional, academic, research and scholarly profile of the SoNAH.
Main responsibilities:
Newman’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE);
As a member of the SoNAH team, work in partnership with the academic colleagues and their managers, and experts by experience to deliver high quality modules/programmes relevant to the needs of the public;
Undertake marking/assessing assessment tasks, including assignment briefs, providing timely and constructive feedback to students, conducting all assessment activity in line with Newman quality processes;
Any other duties determined by the Vice-Chancellor, as necessary to assist the effective operation of the University;
2. Health & Safety:
Under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 the post holder must take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of any other person who may be affected by their acts or omissions. The post holder must also co-operate with the University on all matters concerning health and safety and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for the purpose of health, safety or welfare. The post holder must follow Health & Safety requirements in line with their training and instruction, and report to management any unsafe acts or conditions, defects in equipment or facilities that have the potential to affect health and safety. The post holder must report to management any injuries they receive whilst at work.
Where post holders line manage staff and services, they will be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of those staff and services in accordance with the University’s Health & Safety Organisational Arrangements.
