This role will require a presence of at least 3 days a week on our Holborn campus, with 1-2 days working from home to suit the student timetable**. You may be required to be on campus 4 days a week in some cases, based on teaching and meeting requirements.

The Law Department sits within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology and is part of a collaborative, supportive academic community. We are a small but friendly team who work closely across our different campuses and online. Our focus is on practice ready programmes that align with the professional practice requirements.
About the Opportunity:
We are looking for an innovative and professional individual who has experience of creating high-quality digital learning materials to enhance student learning to join our growing Law Department.
You will need to be highly motivated as well as committed to creating an excellent teaching and learning environment for our students. You will have a good understanding of both the Qualifying Law Degree and Solicitors Qualifying Examinations as well as wider industry issues, and will contribute to the development and delivery of both of our undergraduate and postgraduate provisions. You will report to a Senior Lecturer in Law, and will:
- Deliver engaging and dynamic workshops both face-to-face and online for our campus-based and distance learning students.
- Take on module leadership, ensuring consistent quality and development of learning materials and schemes of work.
- Design excellent digital teaching material for undergraduate and post graduate study ensuring that content and methods of delivery meet defined learning objectives.
- Manage own teaching activity and reflect on practice and development of skills, with support/guidance as needed.
- Undertake administrative activities to support teaching and learning activities.
- Actively contribute to Department level activity.
** Our LLM programme whilst delivered online is taught at weekends and there is an expectation that the successful candidate will teach on this programme and the main LLB. There are usually 8 weekends a year for LLM delivery.
About You:
Essential Skills / Experience
- You will be qualified to postgraduate level in English Law.
- You should have the knowledge to be able to teach across the LLB curriculum including the foundations of legal knowledge and at least two other modules offered by the Law Department. This includes modules linked to the SQE curriculum.
- AdvanceHE Recognition - FHEA or willing to achieve within 12-18 months.
- You will be experienced in current and effective teaching, learning and assessment practices in Higher Education, and be able to bring your knowledge and understanding to Arden to grow our programmes and provide excellent student outcomes.
- We would also be interested in applications from practitioners with substantial experience in supervision and/or training of junior legal staff in the absence of formal teaching experience.
£41,220 to £47,728. London weighting: £4,000 per annum
