The School of Mathematics and Statistics is looking to appoint two Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) positions. These are fixed-term one year appointments. We are looking for outstanding teachers of Applied Mathematics to join us in delivering our highly-rated programme of teaching at undergraduate at taught postgraduate level. At least one of the appointments will specialise in delivery of teaching in mathematical biology, including supporting our MSc Mathematical Biology programme.
We welcome applications from candidates who hold, or will shortly hold, a PhD in Mathematical Biology or Applied Mathematics more generally; have teaching experience at all levels of the curriculum; have experience applying teaching techniques to a wide range of learners; have good communication skills and share our desire to educate and inform students.
Role holders will teach modules in applied mathematics at a range of levels from first year undergraduate to taught Masters level and will supervise final-year undergraduate projects and summer MSc dissertations. For one of the appointments an ability to teach a range of topics in Mathematical Biology and supervise dissertations in Mathematical Biology is essential.
