Training Qualifications UK is seeking experienced Functional Skills Maths examiners to join our growing team.
TQUKs Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Skills Maths qualifications have seen significant growth since their launch in February 2024, and we are looking for additional examiners to support in day-to-day marking activities.
The role of a Functional Skills Examiner is to mark candidates scripts in accordance with the TQUK Functional Skills Maths mark schemes.
Your responsibilities will include marking a daily allocation with accuracy and within an agreed timeframe and to complete training, standardisation and moderation activities as required.
The desired candidates will be able to work well under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines. You will need to have a high level of subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme.
The marking of Functional Skills qualifications takes place entirely online via our web-based eMarking platform. TQUK examiners must have access to a computer and must be able to accept and mark an allocation each working day. These qualifications are sat year-round so the ability to mark both in and out of term time is desired.
Key Responsibilities
Mark a daily allocation of Functional Skills level 1 and level 2 scripts
Attend and complete regular standardisation activities
Engage with internal quality assurances processes
Adhere to the highest possible quality standards relating to assessment practice and report any suspected or actualised breach of confidentiality or malpractice/maladministration to Training Qualifications UK.
Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications
Experience teaching functional skills Maths (or equivalent)
Experience assessing functional skills Maths (or equivalent)
Sound IT and digital literacy skills including experience of working with Microsoft Office
Ability to assess learner work clearly and accurately and in a timely manner
Ability to work with others and act on feedback
Desirable Skills / Experience / Qualifications
Hold a relevant Internal Quality Assurer Qualification (D34, V1)
Any industry relevant vocational qualifications including:
Experience of End-Point Assessment delivery
Experience in engaging with External Quality Assurance activities.
