We're looking for Assessment Writers with Functional Skills experience to create high-quality assessment materials for our Level 1/Level 2 and entry level qualifications.
Assessment Writers are responsible for creating question papers and mark schemes which reflect the requirements set out in our English Assessment Brief.
The role is remote and can be done alongside other professional commitments. You will be expected to attend a number of meetings which will be attended remotely via Microsoft Teams.
Key Responsibilities - Develop high-quality exam papers that are valid, fair, reliable and robust assessment and adhere to the specification and regulatory requirements
- Produce clear and accurate mark schemes which support reliable marking
- Create appropriate, accessible source documents that are engaging, relevant and suitable for the target level.
Essential Skills & Experience - Knowledge and/or experience with Functional Skills English and Entry Level English.
- A degree in English or related field.
- Experienced teachers with excellent subject knowledge in English.
- Knowledge of writing assessments/questions and experience of writing examination papers and the associated mark schemes.
- Ability to write to a brief.
- Good IT skills and a willingness to embrace new systems, as much of the associated work is computer based.
- An openness to receiving constructive feedback and the ability to incorporate that feedback appropriately to make amendments.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organisation and leadership skills.
- The ability to meet deadlines and deliver work to a strict schedule.
- Excellent attention to detail.
