As one of the fastest-growing Colleges in the UK, Weston College is excited to be opening the brand-new Aerospace Skills Academy, which will welcome its first learners in September 2026. The Academy will be a cutting-edge training hub, designed to power the next generation of aerospace and advanced engineering professionals.
We are currently looking for a number of people to join us as a Technician – Engineering, to support the team at the Aerospace Skills Academy, in Filton.
As a Technician, you will provide technical support to both the staff and students within our Engineering department. You will assist in the management of workshops and will safely set up and prepare learning activities as well as cleaning, maintaining and repairing equipment within these areas.
You will also maintain an inventory of all relevant equipment and materials and will advise staff to ensure that these stocks are maintained.
A good knowledge of Health and Safety within the workshops will be required, as you will be required to undertake regular checks on relevant equipment and will provide supervision to ensure that work and safety standards are being maintained.
Required skills and qualifications
- Level 2 Qualification in Engineering
- Up to date knowledge of Engineering practices
- Excellent organisational skills
Should you wish to gain further qualifications, there may be an opportunity to complete an Apprenticeship whilst in post.
