Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and inspiring lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions in various areas of Computer Science, including but not limited to software engineering, artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, and algorithms. Develop, update, and review course materials and assessment strategies to ensure they are current, relevant, and meet academic standards. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses. Conduct independent, high-quality research, publishing findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and presenting at international conferences. Contribute to the growth and direction of the Computer Science subject area through curriculum development and research initiatives. Undertake academic administrative duties, such as module coordination, examination board participation, and admissions processes. Foster a supportive and intellectually stimulating learning environment for students. Mentor students, providing academic and pastoral support. Collaborate with colleagues on research projects and grant applications. Engage in the wider university community through committee work and outreach activities. Stay abreast of developments in computer science and higher education pedagogy. Contribute to the university's strategic goals for research and teaching excellence. Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field. A strong track record of research and publications in recognized academic venues. Demonstrable experience in teaching Computer Science at the university level. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and engage students from diverse backgrounds. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Experience in curriculum development and assessment design. A commitment to continuous professional development and academic scholarship. Evidence of securing research funding or a clear potential to do so is desirable. Experience with online and blended learning environments is advantageous.
