We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in GCSE & Functional Skills English to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Loughborough College.
The Loughborough College Foundation Learning Department has a unique opportunity for an inspiring, dynamic and committed individual to teach English.
Our Foundation Learning courses are specifically aimed at students who are entering education at Entry Level or Level one.
They are designed to provide learners with the skills they need to move on to an apprenticeship, supported or skilled employment, further education, or independent living. You will teach Functional Skills and resit GCSE English to a wide range of learners in the Department on both level one and entry level programmes alongside their vocational programme.
Responsibilities of this role include;
- Deliver inspiring teaching and learning
- Monitor the progress of students in each lesson
- Ensure learners are on track to achieve their target grades through implementing appropriate assessments and providing high-quality feedback
What we are looking for;
- Enthusiastic and able to demonstrate the ability to motivate and engage learners through the use of high-quality teaching and learning strategies
- Possess current experience of teaching English
- A relevant degree or equivalent is essential
- Possess a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one
- Previous experience of supporting and managing a diverse group of students including those with SEND
- Have strong interpersonal and organisational skills
