About the Role
As a Training Officer, you will take ownership of creating a high-quality learning environment that supports employees at every stage of their growth. Working closely with managers and senior leaders, you will develop a strategic Learning & Development framework, oversee a Training Academy, and contribute to succession planning and talent progression.
A key part of the role will be implementing and managing a new training platform, ensuring compliance, tracking training activity, and helping the organisation meet its strategic objectives through effective and consistent development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging training using digital, classroom-based, and on-the-job learning methods.
- Lead the implementation of a new learning management system, ensuring effective tracking, reporting, and user training.
- Develop and monitor KPIs, producing clear reports on training activity, impact, costs, and budget usage.
- Oversee the Training Academy, supporting apprenticeships, mentoring programmes, and future leadership development.
- Partner with managers to identify skills gaps, create training plans, and align learning with organisational objectives.
- Source internal and external training solutions, identifying funding opportunities where possible.
- Promote a positive culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and quality standards within all training activity.
The Person
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- GCSEs (A–C) in Maths and English or equivalent.
- Strong IT skills, including confidence with digital training tools.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of an organisation.
- Experience designing, delivering, and maintaining training materials.
- Familiarity with learning management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Professional, confidential, and diplomatic approach.
Desirable- A formal training qualification.
- Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, or similar sectors.
- Background in customer service.
