About Us
The Independent End-Point Testing & Training Ltd (IETTL) is the End Point Assessment Organisation and certification body serving the Commercial and Industrial Thermal Insulation sector and its related training offer. Based at the TICA National Training Centre in Darlington, IETTL delivers Level 2 and Level 3 End Point Assessments (EPAs) to approximately 150 apprentice candidates per year, in groups of up to 16 candidates. The EPAs ensure the highest standards of industry competence and regulatory compliance.
IETTL works closely with employers, apprentices, training providers, industry bodies, and regulatory authorities to ensure assessments are robust, fair, compliant, and supportive of workforce development across the sector.
Position Overview
The End Point Assessment Manager/Responsible Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring IETTL delivers high-quality, compliant, and timely End Point Assessment services. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day EPA operations while maintaining regulatory compliance and acting as the Ofqual Responsible Officer and liaising with external quality assurance bodies.
As a senior operational lead, you will manage EPA assessor and IQA relationships, ensure assessment activity is planned and resourced effectively, and uphold robust quality assurance processes. The postholder will lead continuous improvement activity, oversee policy and system compliance, and safeguard the integrity of all assessment processes.
Person Specification
Essential
· Strong understanding of EPA processes, frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
· Experience overseeing operational activity within apprenticeships, assessment, or vocational training.
· Experience working with online assessment platforms (e.g., ACE360).
· Excellent organisational, communication, and administrative skills.
· Ability to manage multiple deadlines, workflows, and stakeholders effectively.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce high-quality reports.
· Confidence in interpreting and applying regulatory and compliance guidance.
Desirable
· Prior experience liaising with Ofqual or other regulatory/quality assurance bodies.
· Knowledge of ISO standards and quality assurance methodologies.
· Experience coordinating or delivering audits, inspections, or evidence submissions.
· Experience working with SharePoint, Aptem, ACE360, and Microsoft 365.
Duties
· Lead the operational delivery of EPAs, ensuring scheduling, planning, and communication is efficient and effective.
· Act as the formal point of contact with Ofqual, maintaining all regulatory accounts, documentation, and compliance.
· Manage EPA assessor and IQA relationships, including recruitment, onboarding, standardisation, and performance oversight.
· Oversee the planning and delivery of in-person EPAs at the National Training Centre and external locations.
· Ensure all EPA documentation (learner folders, results entries, certification records) is accurate, complete, and stored securely.
· Analyse EPA activity and outcomes, producing reports for senior management and the IETTL Board of Trustees.
· Lead internal quality assurance processes, including moderation and standardisation.
· Ensure compliance with all EPA policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
· Maintain internal systems including SharePoint, Aptem, ACE360, and Microsoft 365.
· Support audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions.
· Draft, update, and manage policies, procedures, and organisational documentation.
· Provide guidance, training, and support to assessors, IQAs, and staff.
· Lead planning and feedback sessions to forecast EPA activity and resource needs.
· Support development and integration of digital systems and data processes.
· Ensure Health & Safety, safeguarding, and data governance standards are met.
Experience and Qualifications
· Educated to Level 3 or above (or equivalent relevant experience).
· Demonstrable experience in operational or compliance roles within apprenticeships, training, or assessment.
· Strong understanding of data handling, information governance, and quality frameworks.
· Experience contributing to audits or inspections.
