This fixed‑term role is essential in ensuring continuity of service across the College, providing high‑quality support to staff and maintaining the smooth operation of our MIS Helpdesk during the post‑holder’s period of leave.
Based primarily at our Poplar Campus — a busy, professional environment with strong links to East London’s business and educational landscape — you will play a key part in supporting colleagues across curriculum and support areas. As the first point of contact for MIS‑related queries, you will be responsible for managing helpdesk cases, maintaining documentation, supporting data quality checks, and contributing to improvements in processes and systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical and communication skills who enjoys problem‑solving, working collaboratively, and ensuring data integrity. You’ll be joining a supportive team environment where your work will directly contribute to the accurate and efficient running of our student data and information services.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage the MIS Helpdesk, ensuring all queries are logged, resolved, or escalated within agreed timescales.
Maintain and update Knowledge Base articles, process documentation and internal guidance.
Support data accuracy by assisting with system testing, report checks and validations.
Analyse data sets and help users interpret information effectively.
Process enrolments, change requests and rejected learning agreements, ensuring compliance with funding rules and audit requirements.
Resolve ILR, DSAT and FRM issues and liaise with staff and students to address data‑related queries.
Contribute to improvements in MIS systems and processes across the Information Services team.
Handle all data in line with GDPR requirements.
Who You Are:
Experience working in an MIS team within a large FE college.
Strong knowledge of Student Records systems and experience maintaining accurate data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good technical skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Understanding of databases and a willingness to learn SQL, SSRS and SSIS.
Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with colleagues.
