As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Assessment Officer to join our Assessment Team.
The Assessment Officer plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality End-Point Assessments (EPAs) for apprentices. From gateway approval through to assessment booking, quality assurance coordination, exam preparation and results processing, you will help ensure assessments are delivered efficiently, accurately and in line with regulatory requirements and service level agreements.
This is a fully cross-trained role providing flexible operational support across the team, particularly during busy end-of-year peak periods. You will work closely with Training Providers, Universities, Employers, Apprentices and internal EPA teams to ensure a seamless assessment journey. We are a fast-evolving organisation, so you will need to be flexible, adaptable, and willing to embrace new processes and continuous improvement initiatives to help us deliver the best possible service to our clients and learners.
This role would suit a motivated and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their workload and maintains exceptional attention to detail. You will be highly professional, organised, and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. You must be confident in managing your own workload, prioritising tasks, and maintaining excellent coordination and diary management skills.
Key Responsibilities- Review and process End-Point Assessment gateway submissions, carefully assessing documentation to ensure all eligibility criteria are met prior to approval.
- Approve apprentices for End-Point Assessment in line with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
- Coordinate and manage assessment bookings, including resits and multiple assessment components, ensuring accuracy and adherence to service level agreements.
- Allocate Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) activities to assessors and ensure quality assurance processes are completed within required timeframes.
- Submit apprentices who are ready for result release to the Results Release team, ensuring all documentation and quality checks are complete.
- Upload and prepare exam components in advance of scheduled assessments and provide operational support across exam-related processes.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, managing shared mailboxes and communications within SLA, providing clear and professional guidance on assessment queries and bookings.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of apprenticeship standards, assessment plans and sector developments within the construction industry.
- Effectively manage high volumes of work during peak assessment cycles while maintaining quality, compliance and attention to detail.
- Provide flexible, cross-functional support across the EPA team to ensure continuity of service and continuous improvement.
Key Requirements
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when processing documentation and data.
- Experience managing workloads in line with service level agreements (SLAs) or performance targets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Confident using IT systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Experience handling data securely and maintaining confidentiality in line with data protection requirements.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks and demonstrate accountability for outcomes.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond positively to changing priorities.
