Day-to-day of the role of an English Lecturer:
- Deliver engaging and informative lessons to GCSE students, ensuring content is accessible and stimulating.
- Prepare lesson plans and educational materials that meet curriculum standards.
- Assess and evaluate students' progress through assignments, tests, and examinations.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their learning experience.
- Maintain up-to-date records of students' grades, attendance, and overall progress.
- Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons effectively.
- Participate in departmental meetings and teacher training workshops to continually improve teaching strategies and techniques.
Required Skills & Qualifications for the role:
- A degree in English or a related subject.
- Recognised teaching qualification Cert Ed, PGCE, DET etc.
- Proven experience as an English teacher at the GCSE level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
