Full time Level 2 Land-Based Service Engineer Apprentice required to work in a friendly, tree work company in West Hyde, Rickmansworth, WD3 9XY (put postcode in Google Maps for exact location). Public transport is not an option as we are quite remote. Due to insurance company restrictions this position is only open to candidates 18 years and older. No previous experience required.
Hours: Monday - Friday 7.00am - 4.00pm
Key Aims and requirements: To learn all aspects of plant and vehicle repair and maintenance whilst working as part of a team. All apprentices are required to join the two year apprenticeship program based at BCA College in Windsor/Maidenhead. It is expected that all students will be fully qualified Level 2 Engineer at the end of the 2 year apprenticeship.
Tasks:
• Select, apply, and care for appropriate tools and equipment. Demonstrate dexterity, resourcefulness, and a professional approach to service engineering practice
• Maintain and conduct basic repairs and maintenance activities on power units, and power trains, mechanical equipment, plant and machinery and their associated systems and components either under supervision or following procedures and service schedules prepared by the manufacturer or employer
• Thermally and chemically join metals and materials
• Access and interpret technical data relating to service and maintenance operations in accordance with the manufacturer’s documentation
• Understand and comply with regulations and other legislation relevant to the role, including PUWER, LOLER, COSHH and the abrasive wheel regulations.
• Record information, maintain accurate records and communicate with suppliers and colleagues using verbal and handwritten methods whilst observing customer care practices
• Keep all areas of the yard clean and tidy. Including the sign out area, storerooms, bin areas, boards, fuel areas, wheelbarrow area, potted trees, general weeding and hedges.
Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude along with good levels of fitness. No experience required. You must hold a full driving licence.
Package:
Full PPE provided. Fully paid, on going training including all assessment fees.
20 days paid holiday plus bank holidays and birthday off. Regular training days, staff parties/days out.
Salary:
£25,000 per annum
