"The best 10 minutes of my day are when I'm carrying out interventions and wellbeing check-ins with our students. These moments allow me to see the immediate impact our support has on their confidence, mood, and overall wellbeing." Mollie, Pastoral Coach, joined HBVC in May 2022.
Have you ever considered using your skills to change the lives of young adults in a compassionate, specialist environment?"
We are looking for a dedicated and inspiring Pastoral Coach to join our Pastoral and Therapies team. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to play a key role in supporting learners with diverse and additional needs, and to contribute to the meaningful, person-centred work that defines HBVC.
Reporting to the Head of Pastoral, you will help deliver high-quality emotional, social and wellbeing support for our learners. You will work to remove barriers to learning, contribute to personalised support plans, and collaborate closely with Tutors, Parents/Carers, and external professionals to ensure every learner can make meaningful progress. As a Pastoral Coach, you will be a positive role model who encourages confidence, independence, and resilience in the young people you support.
We are looking for someone who communicates with warmth, builds strong and trusting relationships, and brings a calm, proactive approach to solving challenges. Experience in an educational or SEND setting is beneficial, but what matters most is your passion, your empathy, and your commitment to helping young people thrive.
If you are motivated by making a real difference, enjoy working collaboratively, and are excited by the opportunity to support learners through both challenges and successes, we would encourage you to apply.
We welcome visits and would be happy to give you a tour of our college - we'll show you around, introduce you to staff and learners, and answer any questions you may have. Tours are a great opportunity for you to see our college 'in action' and get a real feel for what it's like to work here – drop Wendy Lamb, Head of HR Operations, an email at jobs@hbvc.ac.uk to book an appointment.
Applications close Sunday 01st March 2026 and interviews are planned to take place week commencing 09th March 2026.
This is a permanent, full time, term time, role. Salaries stated within the job pack are actual gross and already take term time working into account.
