Experteer Overview
In this role you will contribute to teaching and researching the International Relations of the Americas, with focus areas such as U.S. foreign policy, migration, and inter-American affairs. You will develop modules for undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise PhD students, and participate in departmental and university-wide activities. The position emphasizes innovative curricula, methodological training, and collaboration across disciplines. You will help advance the Institute’s mission to expand specialist knowledge of the Americas and engage with external audiences and policy communities.

- Contribute to teaching and research on contemporary foreign policy analysis of the Americas
- Develop optional undergraduate and postgraduate modules and contribute to core modules
- Supervise PhD students and participate in postgraduate teaching
- Take on departmental responsibilities and join UCL-wide working groups/committees

- Contribute to delivery of modules on Foreign Policy Analysis, International Relations of the Americas, Migration in the Americas, and International History

Tasks
- PhD in International Relations, History or Political Science (or related fields)
- Strong research background with publications in top journals or presses on the Americas
- Experience teaching and assessing at university level in relevant subjects
- Ability to develop curricula and supervise undergraduate, postgraduate taught, and doctoral students
- Competence in quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods research
- Proven potential to publish in top-tier venues and with leading publishers
- Commitment to inclusive practice and equality themes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to engage non-academic audiences
