Contract Type: 37 hours per week, full time, permanent.
Location: Paignton, Devon
Our Student Services team is seeking a friendly, professional, and student focused Student Services Advisor to join our dynamic Admissions team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with people, building strong rapport quickly, and supporting individuals as they begin their personal and academic journeys. You’ll play a key part in delivering a welcoming, high quality experience to new learners as they move through the enrolment process.
In this role, you’ll provide professional support to all enquirers, whether by email, phone, online chat, or in person, ensuring responses are timely, accurate, and aligned with College standards. You will work closely with teams across the College to offer up to date information, support onboarding activities such as Interview Evenings and Enrolment sessions, and ensure accurate data entry. You’ll also make essential referrals, including directing applicants with SEN needs to Learning Support, escalating potential risk cases for assessment, and connecting unsure applicants with the Guidance Team so they can make informed decisions. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with Guidance and Safeguarding & Wellbeing staff to follow up with early leavers or applicants who haven’t converted, helping to strengthen future retention.
The role also involves offering advice on travel and bursary schemes in partnership with the Funding and Transport Officer, as well as supporting administrative processes linked to these areas. You will work with the Marketing Team at promotional events such as Open Events and school visits to help represent the College. If you hold GCSE English and maths at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), have experience working with the public in a frontline role, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team, we would love to hear from you.
Our staff are integral to maintaining our passion and high-performance levels, and we reward our staff for this. Our benefits are designed to encourage a healthy work-life balance, and include:
- 25 days annual leave (pro-rata of fractional) including the option to purchase additional holiday days;
- 1 additional day’s holiday for your birthday (does not have to be used on your birthday);
- 1 additional day’s holiday for every 5 years served;
- Christmas Closure of up to 2 weeks in addition to annual leave entitlement;
- Access to a wealth of training, apprenticeships and funded higher education opportunities as well as dedicated training days;
